What does HOLLEYHOUSE do?

We are a full-service interior design firm based in Austin, Texas. We handle everything from concept development and sourcing to procurement, installation, and final styling. You bring the vision, we take it from there. Check out our Services page for more.

Who will I be working with?

Erica Holley, Principal Designer, leads all creative work and client-facing decisions. You will work with Erica directly throughout your project. Learn more about Erica

What kinds of projects do you take on?

We work on full-service residential projects including room refreshes, whole-home redesigns, renovations, and new construction. We also offer Virtual Design and Consulting services.

Do you offer virtual design?

Yes! Virtual Design is available for clients outside the Austin area or for those who prefer a more hands-on approach. The process and deliverables differ from full-service. Please reach out and we can help you figure out which option fits your project.

Where are you located and what areas do you serve?

We are based in Austin, Texas. Most of our projects are in the Austin metro area, but we work with clients across the US for virtual and select full-service projects.

THE PROCESS


How does a project start?

It starts with a complimentary discovery conversation. We learn about your goals, your lifestyle, and your budget. If it's a good fit, we schedule an in-home walkthrough to see the space firsthand. From there we scope the project and present a flat design fee before anything is signed.

How long will my project take?

Every project is unique, so timelines vary. Procurement and delivery depend on what we are sourcing and where it is coming from: some items arrive in weeks, others take longer. Renovations and new construction run the longest given contractor schedules and the additional coordination involved. Lead times, contractor schedules, and how quickly selections get approved all affect how things move.

What does the design process look like?

Once you sign on, we begin with a deep-dive into your space and lifestyle. From there we develop layout recommendations, mood boards, material palettes, and product selections. We present the full concept and one round of revisions is included. Once everything is approved, we move into procurement and handle all ordering, tracking, and delivery logistics. We then oversee installation and final styling.

Do you work with contractors?

Yes. If construction or trades are involved, you enter into an agreement directly with the contractor. We oversee progress onsite, coordinate scheduling, and keep the project moving.

PRICING & PAYMENTS


How do you charge for design services?

We work on a flat design fee quoted after an onsite walkthrough and scoping conversations have occurred. You know exactly what you’re paying before anything begins.

How is product priced?

We source product through our trade accounts and vendor relationships. Everything is priced at MSRP -- you won't pay above retail. We are compensated through the difference between trade pricing and retail, which keeps our design fees lower and shifts the cost of procurement and project management to the vendors rather than to you.

Do I pay for products upfront?

Yes. Nothing is ordered without your written approval. Once you sign off on a selection, we issue an invoice and place the order only after payment is received.

Can I make purchases on my own during the project?

We ask that you hold off on independent purchases once the project is underway. We are happy to design around pieces you already own, but adding new items mid-project can affect the cohesion of the design and the timeline.

What if I want changes after approving the design?

One round of revisions is included. Additional revisions or scope changes are structured as a separate phase or change order by default, agreed upon in writing before any work begins.

Can the project be paused?

Yes, with written notice and settlement of any outstanding design fee payments. If the project is not resumed within 180 days, the agreement is considered closed.

Will you photograph the finished space?

We hope to! We coordinate timing with you and remove any personal or identifying items from shots. Your name and address are never disclosed. If you share the project on social media, we’d love a tag at @holleyhouseco.
